Funeral Party for Splendour?

Posted in Festivals, Gigs, International Artists, News, Tours with tags , , , , , , on April 11, 2011 by keelykov

Funeral Party
The most excellent LA 5 piece Funeral Party, have announced their first headling Australian tour, and the dates line up just so that they seem to be a shoe in for addition to the Splendour In The Grass line up.

Funeral Party, who released their debut album Golden Age of Knowhere to wide acclaim in late January 2011, will play the east coast and Perth in early August – directly after Splendour wraps up.

The Splendour Lineup, which is due out Wednesday morning (13th April) has had the rumour mill working in overdrive with the likes of Kanye West, Radiohead, the Kills, Jamie Woon and the Vaccines all expected to be announced.

Check out Funeral Party at the following dates:

Tuesday August 2   Perth – Capitol
Friday August 5     Sydney – Metro Theatre
Saturday August 6 Melbourne – Hi Fi Bar
Tuesday August 9    Brisbane – Hi Fi Bar

And stay tuned to Lost In Suburbia for all your Splendour updates.

The Kills confirmed for Splendour 2011

The Kills Confirm Splendour 2011

Though the official line up release is still weeks away, a few bands have self confirmed they will be playing Splendour In the Grass in 2011.

One of the more exciting announcements has been The Kills, who confirmed in an interview with Pedestrian.TV earlier this week that they will be heading to Woodfordia in July to perform at the festival.

Earlier this year, Brit rockers The Vaccines confirmed [via Adelaide’s Rip It Up] they would also be heading our way for everyone’s favourite winter music event:

“Yep, we’re doing Splendour In The Grass, but new things are coming all the time. We’re going to Japan first, we’re coming to Australia and I really hope we’re doing three or four festivals but we have to wait until they confirm us. I’d like to be there as long as possible because I hear amazing things about it,” guitarist Freddy Cowan said.

And, just to add fire to the rumour mill, Radiohead have this week confirmed that an Australian Tour in 2011 is definitely on the cards – could that be a Splendour headliner in the works?
