DZ DEATHRAYS take their Brutal Tapes on the road

Hide your kids, hide your wives and hide your tequila, cause everyones favourite thrash punk duo DZ DEATHRAYS are heading your way to release their Brutal Tapes upon you.

Recently signing with Aussie Indie label I OH YOU for the release of the forthcoming sophomore EP Brutal Tapes, DZ DEATHRAYS have announced their headline EP tour around the country.

Brutal Tapes will be a mash up of studio recordings, live house party tracks as well as a few remixes from some prominent Australian DJs.

This tour comes smack bang in the middle of their US and UK dates. They’re showcasing at SXSW in Austin, Texas and then at The Great Escape in Brighton, UK and Liverpool Sound City.

Let DZ DEATHRAYS ruin your lives with their brutal tapes at the following shows:

FRI 1 APRIL – WOODLANDS, BRISBANE
12 SAT 2 APRIL – SHARK BAR, GOLD COAST

DZ add DEATHRAYS and take on the world

DZ DEATHRAYS

Brisbane indie/thrash/punk two-piece, DZ, have changed their name to DZ DEATHRAYS. However, they are very much the same band, with Shane Parsons on vocals, Simon Ridley on drums and a whole lot of noise and strobes.

The name change, comes ahead of their plans to take on the US and UK scenes in a big way in 2011, but with the uprise in dubstep music comes the clash with long standing dubstep US DJ of the same name, ‘DZ’.

DZ DEATHRAYS (capitals – get it right when you text your friends) are set to take on the world with sets being announced at SXSW in Austin, Texas and at the Great Escape Festival in the UK.

While in the United States for SXSW, the boys will return to New York, a city they left trembling in their wake in late 2010, as well as take on the sunset strip in LA.

Fri 11th March @ Pianos, NY
Sun 13th March @ Delancey, NY
Sat 19th March @ Sick House Party, Austin (watch this space for more info)
15th-21st March @ SXSW, Austin

And so on to The Great Escape festival in Brighton, UK. With the help of the QLD government, DZ DEATHRAYS will be heading to the UK (and possibly Europe) in May 2011. Stay tuned for more details to come.
