Song Summit 2010 kicks off tomorrow at the Sydney Convention Center and to celebrate, colourful TV, Radio & Music identity Chit Chat Von Loopin Stab will launch the record attempt for The World’s Longest Song (with the most co-writers) at the opening night party.
Song Summit 2010 is presented by APRA|AMCOS and NSW Government through Events NSW as part of Vivid Sydney (27th May – 21st June).
Chit Chat says, “This World Record Attempt is a great way to draw attention to those at the coal face. The Songwriters. Who aren’t always the face you see on the TV or the voice you hear on the radio. But who need their name in a big book. Also, attempting this appeals to my work ethic; since this is a World Record that doesn’t even exist yet!”
The song will be on the theme of Songwriting and delegates of the 3-day conference, which is dedicated to the art & craft of songwriting, will have the chance to input their own rhyming couplet while there. Members of the public will also be invited to input via the Song Summit website http://www.songsummit.com.au/worldslongestsong.htm for a period of 1 week following the summit.
The song aims to chart the course – the highs and lows – of all music creators. Following the close of submissions, curator Chit Chat, along with Katie Noonan and other notable guests will take the lines and lay them to music – how this will turn out is anyone’s guess!
Anyone taking part in this World Record Attempt will be credited as a co-writer. Any royalties or other income earned by this song will be donated to the charity Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy Australia Ltd.
