PVT

In celebration of their new album Church With No Magic, PVT are heading out on a national tour.

Church With No Magic is due for release on the 16th July and is said to build on the anthemic synth-driven instrumental movements for which PVT is renowned.

They will be joined in Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney by Sydney-based experimental electronica maestros Seekae.

The tour kicks off at Perth’s Rosemount Hotel, supported by local transcendental quartet Astral Travel & Serbian mutli-instrumentalist noisemaker Predrag Delibasich.

PVT then head to The Corner in Melbourne alongside Melbourne’s Tantrums.

In Brisbane they are supported by rad local five-piece Comic Sans.

The tour then wraps up in their hometown of Sydney, at the Manning Bar, with Seekae and experimental electro-pop locals Ghoul.

Get your PVT on at the following venues:

Perth: Fri 6th August @ The Rosemount Hotel
Melbourne: Thurs 12th August @ The Corner
Brisbane: Thurs 19th August @ The Zoo
Sydney: Sat 21st August @ The Manning Bar

Pivot drop vowels, pick up new album + national tour

The band formally known as Pivot, PVT, are set to make an epic return this July 16th with the release of their new album Church With No Magic (mustn’t be a scientology church then).

To celebrate the release, PVT have announced an Australian tour in August.

The Sydney trio were forced to change their name from Pivot to PVT as the result of an unexpected legal claim from a band in the United States that used the same name.

“It was frustrating and kind of ridiculous,’’ says Richard Pike. “But it became quickly obvious that it was a legal battle in the US we may not even win, and one we just couldn’t afford to lose. So in the end, we weren’t phased by it. Altering the name just seemed to be another step in the process for the record to come out and be heard.’’

Check out the newlydevowelinated band at the following venues:

Perth – Fri 6 August @ Rosemount
Melbourne – Thurs 12 Aug @ The Corner
Brisbane – Thurs 19 Aug @ Zoo
Sydney – Sat 21 Aug @ Manning Bar
