Public Enemy Announce Sydney Show

And you thought they would only play Melbourne! SYDNEY GET READY FOR PUBLIC ENEMY!

Sorry about all the caps, but excitement got the better of me. Believe the hype because it’s true, Chuck D, Flavor Flav, DJ Lord and The S1W’s are coming to the Harbour City.

Public Enemy will be performing their ground-breaking album Fear Of A Black Planet at the Metro Theatre on January 4th 2011.

Released through Def Jam Records and produced by the legendary The Bomb Squad, FEAR OF A BLACK PLANET “was as much a musical assault on America’s racism as it was a call to blacks to effectively react to it” (author – Marcus Reeves).  Selling one million copies in its first week of release in the USA alone, the album has since been widely recognized as one of the most important in musical, and indeed social political history. In 2003 it was ranked number 300 on Rolling Stone magazine’s list of the 500 greatest albums of all time and in 2004 was chosen by the Library of Congress in the US to be added to the National Recording Registry.

Supporting Public Enemy will be Australian emcee and front man for The Herd and Astronomy Class, Ozi Batla.

Tickets on sale Thursday November 25th.
