goyte & kimbra will both perform at Homebake 2011

After taking a cheeky little gap year in 2010 where we can only assume it went on Contiki and made out with all the foxy European festivals, Homebake will be returning home to the Domain on the 3rd December 2011.

The first line up has just been announced and it’s looking like the 16th birthday of the festival, which has been labelled ‘The Classic Edition’ by promoters, is going to kick some serious buttage.

Tickets for the festival go on sale Monday August 15th and are only open to punters 18+. Even better than a kid free environment though is that a pass to the event won’t cost you your first born at only $95! Ahhh i can almost smell the good old days!

Homebake who? It’s all about Dalebake!

Fergus Brown

After the sad announcement that Homebake would be a Nobake this year, the musically inclined folk at The Annandale decided that summer wasn’t summer without a Sydney celebration of Aussie music; Their solution? Dalebake.

Dalebake, which will take place on Saturday the 4th December at The Annandale hotel will feature three stages and some of the best Australian music including Dan Kelly, Custom Kings, Fergus Brown, Keiran Ryan (Kid Sam), Songs, Leena, Spookyland + many more to announce in coming weeks.

Here is what the kids at the ‘Dale had to say about it:

“Sure the Annandale won’t have the lovely surrounds of the domain and botanical gardens, but it will have the renowned sticky carpet, wonderful Parramatta rd outlook and the unique Annandale décor, that some artsy fartsy designer is probably charging some poor small bar owner a fortune to replicate, telling them it’s cool to be ‘vintage chic’.”

Tickets are on sale now and are $20 presale or $25 on the door. If you arrive before 5.30pm on the day it will only cost you $15. And you can hardly get lunch for that much anymore.
