The Frontier Touring Company have today regretfully announced the cancellation of White Lies’ Melbourne and Sydney shows originally scheduled for April.

A release from the promoters says:

“The band were very much looking forward to visiting Melbourne and Sydney after their Japan dates but with those shows now cancelled following recent disasters, it is unfortunately no longer financially viable to perform the two headline shows here.

The UK band are working towards lining up a full tour of Australia in the future and apologise to Australian fans for the cancellation.”

Tickets bought from Ticketek with a credit card will automatically be refunded back to the same card. Any tickets paid for with cash or eftpos will need to be returned to point of purchase to receive a refund.

If you purchased your ticket for Melbourne online or over the phone through moshtix, your ticket will be automatically refunded back to your credit card/PayPal account – which normally takes about 3 business days to process.

If you purchased your ticket from a moshtix retail outlet you will need to return to the outlet with your ticket to receive your refund.

Doves

What is going on? Does no one want to tour our fine country anymore? Doves, joining a disturbing trend, announced over the weekend they have been forced to cancel their forthcoming Australian tour.

Playground Touring confirmed today that Doves are unable to honour their touring commitment to Australia this February due to a personal matter within the band.

Official statement from the Doves:

We regret to announce that due to circumstances beyond our control we have been forced to cancel our forthcoming tour of Australia.

This is a decision we have not taken lightly and our sincere apologies go out to anyone who has bought tickets for the shows and for any inconvenience caused

Headline shows in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Fremantle have all been cancelled including their appearance at Playground Weekender festival.

Festival organisers plan to announce a replacement in the coming weeks.

Refunds for the Doves headline shows (only) will be available from the point of purchase.

CANCELLED AUSTRALIAN TOUR DATES:

Tuesday 15th February – Hi-Fi Bar, Brisbane
Thursday 17th February – Enmore Theatre, Sydney
Saturday 19th February – The Forum, Melbourne
Monday 21st February – Metropolis, Fremantle

Playground Weekender will go ahead in Wisemans Ferry 17-20 February. And it will still rock, and Lost In Suburbia will still be there covering every moment of it.

Ernest Ellis and Parades co-headline tour cancelled due to illness

Posted in Australian Artists, Gigs, News, Tours with tags , , , on September 30, 2010 by keelykov

The joint headline tour for Ernest Ellis and Parades has unfortunately been forced to cancel.

This is due to a medical condition that Roland ‘Ernest Ellis’ is suffering in his hearing which – if exposed to loud noise for an extended period of time – could result in further complications and permanent damage. He has been advised by doctors not to expose his hearing for at least two months in order to avoid any serious long-term health problems.

Therefore the October tour with Parades has been cancelled. Parades will not be continuing with the tour either. Refunds are available from all ticketing outlets.

He has also been forced to pull out of the Glenn Richards support slot at the Metro in Sydney on November 12th.
Ernest Ellis will, however do the One Movement Showcase in Perth on Sunday, October 10th. This will be his only show for the two-month period.

Roland is extremely disappointed about the cancellations, but hopes fans will understand that this short-term hiatus will allow him to continue for years to come.

Ernest Ellis will still appear at the Pyramid Rock and Peat’s Ridge Festivals at the end of the year.
