The Mission In Motion announce debut album
Sydney five-piece The Mission In Motion have announced the release of their debut album Somewhere Safe on the 30th of July, as well as dropping their new single New Skin.
Somewhere Safe will be the follow up to their sophomore EP A Curse, A Calling, which was released in 2008.
“New Skin is our weekend song. We wanted to write a song about letting everything go, having a few drinks and having a good time with your friends. There is so much to worry about with work, money, relationships etc – we wanted to write a song that could inspire a big night out,” The Mission In Motion front man Brett Islaub says.
“Chris and I wrote it over a few drinks at his place. It had been thrown around in different ways and different versions for about 6 months but as soon as we had the first lines of the first verse written it just clicked and the rest of the song was written in an hour. It was just one of those songs that once we knew what we wanted to do with it everything fell into place,” he adds.
